The international, vendor-neutral certification proves competence in areas such as installation, preventative maintenance, networking, security and troubleshooting. Although not a prerequisite, it is recommended that CompTIA Security+ candidates have at least two years of technical networking experience, with an emphasis on security. The CompTIA Network+ certification is also recommended.

Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA®) validates the ability to install, configure, operate, and troubleshoot medium-size route and switched networks, including implementation and verification of connections to remote sites in a WAN. CCNA curriculum includes basic mitigation of security threats, introduction to wireless networking concepts and terminology, and performance-based skills. This new curriculum also includes (but is not limited to) the use of these protocols: IP, Enhanced Interior Gateway Routing Protocol (EIGRP), Serial Line Interface Protocol Frame Relay, Routing Information Protocol Version 2 (RIPv2),VLANs, Ethernet, access control lists (ACLs).

CCNA certifications are valid for three years. To recertify, pass the ICND2 exam, or pass the current CCNA exam, or pass a CCNA Concentration exam (wireless, security, voice), or pass the current CCDA exam, or  pass any 642 - XXX professional level or Cisco Specialist exam (excluding Sales Specialist exams), or pass a current CCIE or CCDE written exam.

We ONLY USE Official Cisco Press training material. Our program lays the foundation for networking at a practical, hands-on level so that you are guaranteed to be able to plan, implement and manage a large internetworked environment before the course is over.You have access to 3 CISCO 2600 & 2 CISCO 2500 routers as well as a couple of CISCO 2900 switches
You are taught to use a packet sniffer and you are provided with all of the software tools  taught during the program. The course is led by an instructor with over 30 years of experience in this industry.

Our next evening program starts on the 10th of August 2010.  That will be the second Tuesday evening at 5:30 PM. The class will run on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursday evenings from 5:30 PM till 8:30 PM and will continue for a 4 month period at the end of which we know that you can be a CCNA.
